Marking External Mails

To increase the visibility of external mails, we ask everyone to set up a filter in the Web Mailer.
This will allow each user to better identify external mails and hopefully prevent one or two phishing attempts.
The filter will mark any incoming mail coming from outside our domain with a 'flag'.

To increase the visibility of external mails, we ask everyone to set up a filter in the Web Mailer.
This will allow each user to better identify external mails and hopefully prevent one or two phishing attempts.
The filter will mark any incoming mail coming from outside our domain with a 'flag'.


This 'flag' is displayed differently depending on the mail client used.

There is also another option, but it only works in the Web Mailer.

Setting up a filter:

Please log in to Zimbra Web Mailer and then go to the Settings tab.


In the submenu Filter, we can now create a new filter by clicking on [Create filter]:


Please create the filter as follows:


Then confirm with [OK] and click [Save] once at the top left.

The filter is active for all incoming emails.
To apply this filter to existing mails, please click once on [Filter] and then select the folder.




Using tags (for Web Mailer users only) 

All Web Mailer users can also make use of so-called tags.
Two additional filters are set up for this purpose, one for internal mails and another for external mails.

With the action [Mark with tag] a new tag and its color can be created via [Browse].
