Connect network folders (Windows)

Connect network drives (Windows)

First of all, make sure that the computer is connected to the ZMT network with a network cable and that the WLAN and network cable are not connected simultaneously.

PROCEDURE

The following manual explains how to access the personal network folder (Z:) using the example of a user with the username "xyz". To access the personal network folder, enter the following path in the address line of the file manager (Windows Explorer) and confirm with ENTER:

\\fileserver.leibniz-zmt.zmt\users\xyz

Group folders can be accessed under this path:

\fileserver.leibniz-zmt.zmt\projects\

The respective group folder should be added to this path, using the "public" folder as an example the path would look like this:

\fileserver.leibniz-zmt.zmt\projects\public

IMPORTANT: The first time you connect to one of these paths, you may be prompted for a user name and password (ZMT account), this authentication looks different depending on the hardware used:

Authentication at the NOTEBOOK:

NAME: leibniz-zmt.zmt\xyz

PASSWORD: (see ZMT account form)

Authentication at the DESKTOP:

NAME: xyz

PASSWORD: (see ZMT account form)

To permanently connect a network drive (map), please right-click on the workstation/computer in the opened Windows Explorer and enter the corresponding path and a drive letter via "Connect network drive".
